Keeping up their very high standards of song writing and video production, ‘This Ground Moves’ show why they always have a following at gigs in the north east. Micky Cochrane is an accomplished frontman something a lot of good bands lack, and he is ably supported by a confident and sometimes brashly cocky band, but always with a wee glint that says they know everyone is in on the joke; its rock and roll and they are enjoying the ride! They are a ‘indy’ band in the best traditions, 3 minute brit style pop songs with hooky chorus lines, and they deserve to be supported.
sometimes we do the sound for artistes and dont really know of them beforehand, but this lad has been getting a mention from a few folk due to his very nice bluesy folk music (bit of tom waits in there), but also for one of his songs being used on the ‘Twilight’ series, so expect a few of those fans in at this one, theres a few dark corners at the Think Tank….
Just had the big trailer stage out to Bedlington for the Christmas light switch on, and got roped into compering the show, chivvying 7yr olds into singing carols and shouting for santa… even invented a magic light switch for the front of the stage that amazingly lit the big tree up even without connections…thanks to Bob from the council who hid below the tree for half an hour with his hand poised over the real switch. The magic of technology eh???
we like to dress well at Guerilla so Paul at Mazzycranks.com makes sure we are always kitted out in t’s and hoodies with our logo on (which he designed). I have had a few ideas myself about designs I would like to see, so we came up with some stuff..have a look at the Dexys album shirt, and series of ‘evolution of..’ shirts.
Check out the Band page…any bands can have their own in store page on the mazzy site, and fans out there can have shirts /hoodies etc done to order, they can always get hold of a new one whether you remember to carry the box to the gig or not (and you always get your cut!).. speak to Paul.
i wont try to explain why you wont get a ticket to this gig unless you get your arse in gear very quick…oh alright then, its because here you have the three best live unsigned bands in the north of England all in the same venue on the the same night, through a belting big Rig in a graffiti painted warehouse. and there will be beer…go on..get moving then…
we have been a tad busy, Doing the PA for the Remembrance Day parade at Bedlington which puts stuff in perspective… setting up a new venue at the Think Tank with a belting JBL rig that will knock your hat off if you stand too close (and we expect most to be wearing hats, its a style thing) and doing our reggae thang at World HQ with Channel One and the Twinkle Bros, as well as dishing the hip hop beats (or is it Beatz?..is that how the young folk talk?) for eastern block heroes ‘Pushaz’…no rest for the wicked. This weekend sees us down at the Head of Steam for ‘Communion’ night with PEACE. its sold out…but if you mail us we might squeeze a couple more in..
